Community Guidelines

Last Updated: September 11, 2025

Welcome to Ekaki - a community built for solo travelers by solo travelers. Ekaki is a space where solo travelers can meet, share stories, and explore the world together — while staying safe and respectful. These guidelines help keep our community positive, inclusive, and trustworthy. By using Ekaki, you agree to follow these principles.

1. Be Respectful

  • Treat others with kindness and respect — both online and in person.
  • Embrace cultural differences and listen with an open mind.
  • Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or bullying have no place here.

2. Stay on Ekaki Until Trust Is Built

  • Keep conversations inside Ekaki until you feel comfortable and trust the other person.
  • Avoid sharing your phone number, social media, or other private contact information too early.
  • Staying on-platform protects your privacy and helps us keep the community safe.

3. Screen Before Meeting

  • Before meeting someone, get to know them through messages, group chats, or a voice/video call.
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it probably is.
  • Report suspicious behavior using the in-app Report feature.

4. Privacy of Personal & Travel Details

  • Be cautious about sharing exact travel plans, such as flight details, hotel names, or times of arrival and departure.
  • Avoid posting private information like your home address or where you're staying.
  • Share only what you feel comfortable with, and only when you fully trust the other person.

5. Transportation Autonomy

  • Always arrange your own transportation when meeting someone new.
  • Don't rely on a new acquaintance to pick you up or drop you off.
  • Having control of your journey gives you the freedom to leave if you feel uncomfortable.

6. Alcohol Awareness

  • If you choose to drink, do so responsibly and mindfully.
  • Excessive alcohol can impair judgment and increase risk.
  • Stay aware of your surroundings and keep your belongings secure.

7. Underage Users / Minors Policy

  • Ekaki is only for users 17 years and older.
  • If you believe someone underage is using the platform, report the profile immediately.
  • Protect younger travelers by helping us keep the platform age-appropriate.

8. Protection of Personal Identifiers & Financial Info

  • Never share sensitive information such as:
    • Government IDs or passport numbers
    • Bank or payment details
    • Passwords or security codes
  • Ekaki will never ask you for this information through chats or posts.

9. Share Purposefully

  • Post meaningful, travel-related content — stories, questions, tips.
  • Avoid spam, advertising, or irrelevant posts.
  • Make Ekaki a place where travelers feel inspired and informed.

10. Report & Block

  • If someone makes you uncomfortable, block or report them using in-app tools.
  • Reports are reviewed promptly, and action will be taken where necessary.

One Guiding Rule

Be the traveler you'd want to meet.

Respectful. Curious. Open. Kind.
