Community Guidelines

Last Updated: July 1, 2025

Welcome to Ekaki - a community built for solo travelers by solo travelers. Whether you're connecting over a coffee in Chiang Mai or posting a story from the streets of Paris, you're part of something special: a global network of respectful, open-minded adventurers.

To keep Ekaki a safe, welcoming, and authentic space, we ask all members to follow these simple guidelines.

1. Be Kind, Always

Treat others with the same respect you'd offer a fellow traveler on the road. We're all here to share, connect, and grow.

  • Encourage, don't judge
  • Respect cultural differences
  • Say hi, not hey (unless hey is your thing — just make it friendly)

2. Keep it Real

Ekaki is not a dating app. It's a platform for genuine traveler connections, not pick-up lines.

  • No flirting, unsolicited advances, or inappropriate messages
  • No fake profiles or misleading photo
  • Be clear about your travel plans and intentions

3. Respect Boundaries

Not everyone wants to meet up — and that’s okay.

  • Don’t pressure anyone to respond, chat, or meet
  • Accept “no” with grace
  • Use the block/report feature if needed — and report responsibly

4. Share With Purpose

Posting in the travel feed? Keep it helpful, inspiring, or informative.

  • Ask travel-related questions
  • Share travelogues, photos, or tips
  • No spam, self-promo, or irrelevant content

5. Travel Safe, Act Smart

Ekaki can help you meet people — but real-world safety comes first.

  • Always meet in public places
  • Tell a friend where you’re going
  • Trust your gut — if something feels off, report it

6. What’s Not Allowed

  • Harassment, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind
  • Sexual content or innuendos
  • Political, religious, or spammy posts
  • Impersonation, scams, or attempts to sell goods/services

Reporting & Moderation

See something concerning? Use the report button on profiles, messages, or groups. Our team reviews reports promptly and may suspend or remove accounts that violate these guidelines.

One Guiding Rule

Be the traveler you'd want to meet.

Respectful. Curious. Open. Kind.
